I’ve got a new job! And it doesn’t suck!

Monday, March 12th, 2007

I LOVE my new job! A few weeks ago, I was made an offer at Mail Rite up in Putney, VT. I just started today, and lemme tell you, I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! The people are great, the work place is friendly, and even my boss doesn’t scare me! I suspect that he’d even care if I died (which is not at all something that I think my last boss (his name rhymes with fleeo) would do)!

Anyway, between the GREAT pay, the free health, free life insurance, STARTING OFF WITH A WEEKS VACATION, and all the other little goodies (did I mention that I get to sit at a computer all day?!?), it’s a pretty sweet deal. I’m TOTALLY psyked to get into it!

Anyway, I’m REAL tired, and I gotta be up at 7 again tomorrow, so until next time!time!

She still loves me… just not enough to come back (yet?).

I’ve been trying to deal with this stuff the best I can. It’s really hard. I’m trying to move on (I’m working on 2 girls, NEITHER of which will return my calls), but at the same time, I don’t REALLY want to. I still love Deanna. She’s the mother of my child for Christ’s sake. Today (well, Saturday, you know what I mean) when I brought Matt back to her (I had him overnight Friday! YAY!!!) I went upstairs to set up her printer (which we couldn’t do - it was missing a cable that was CLEARLY labeled missing on the box, but the woman who got it for her didn’t bother to procure for her). She came up, changed her clothes in front of me, but then the kicker… shortly before I was leaving, I went to give her a hug (don’t ask me why), and it seemed she hugged me even harder back. I couldn’t help but to say “I love you” and… she said it back. I’m so confused…

I SO want this to mean something, but I don’t dare get my hopes up. She says she’s breaking up with her current boyfriend (THANK GOD, if you knew what I know about him…) but she doesn’t say she’s coming back… so we’ll see what happens. At least she still has feelings for me.

I’ve been working out, and you know what? Below my fat, I really like my body. It has a real nice muscle structure. I can’t wait to get it a little more defined. Work work work, drink drink drink (water)!

Speaking of work, I also hope I can find work soon, because money is running out fast, and the painting job that I thought I had never really materialized. :(

Anyway, I’ll write again as soon as something turns up, but don’t hold your breath if you want tech news and views. My family life is all I can think about (part of, not the only part, but part of the reason I want Deanna back is so I can have my son full time again).

Thanks for reading, if there are any still out there (feel free to comment so I can know if ANYONE is still reading). Sorry I’ve not been more prolific.

I’m not dead! Just nearly!

Ok, how long has it been now? About a month and a half, right? Boy, am I sorry. However, I’m even sorrier to say it’s possibly going to be as much as another month ’till I can post again. See, I’m putting in A LOT of hours at the bakery, as we are short a manager there (even though my boss promised me that when we lost the first manager I would not be put in his place). So that doesn’t leave a lot of time for blogging, sadly. On the up side, I’ve made a lot of progress in other areas. As I mentioned in a previous post I’ve now made a nearly full move to Linux (Ubuntu Dapper Drake, to be precise). I only reboot to Windows to re-sync my iPod, and I’m nearly done with that once I get a couple of kinks with amaroK worked out. Now, let me tell you - if you’re not a hardcore gamer (a lot of games work on Linux, but not all), Linux can be a dream. I’ve got XGL and Compiz running, and it puts Vista to shame for eye candy.

XGL and Compiz

I’ve got plenty of good programs in the form of open source stuff, and best? It’s all free. What do you all think about Linux? Has anyone else here tried it, and what kind of success did you have?

Ok, that’s it for now. I’ll post back ASAP. Thanks!

OFF is on digg again!

Monday, August 14th, 2006

And this time, it got enough diggs to make it to the front page! W00t! I am SO psyched about this. It might just get it the extra exposure it REALLY needs to go nova. Digg should provide plenty of eager beta testers, and honestly, the program runs great for where it is in it’s dev cycle.

Anyway, PLEASE DIGG IT!!! PLEASE! We need your support!

UPDATE: There is another OFF centric story on Digg! Check it out:

Darknets are SO last century. Why not go Brightnet! Why break the law when you don’t have to. Hackers have found a way to share stuff without violating copyright.

Welcome to the new home of The Monkey-Dog Cafe!

Wednesday, July 5th, 2006

Here we have a brand spankin’ new Domain (truevox.net) and GREAT pay as you go hosting provided by nearlyfreespeech.net (GOOD people, pay per usage). At any rate, I’m here to stay. I’m powered by sweet delicious Wordpress (a GREAT CMS, if you all are intrested). Now, on to business.

We’ve got a new member of our Family! Her name is Angel, and Deanna is GAGA over her. Oh, and here’s a few pics:

Isn’t she a sweet heart? We’ve fallen in love with her from when my dad walked through the door with her. I think we’re gonna keep her. She’s in the bathroom now, just enjoying the shelter (she was sitting under my car when Dad saw her).

In other news, I HAVE A MOVIE OF OUR HOUSE!!! Here we go:

Well, thanks for joining us, both at our new cyber home, and soon at our new HOME home. The cleaning party is on the 22 of this month, and there will be my Dad’s pizza and Deanna’s Gram’s Pasta. Mm mm good!

Thanks, and happy reading!
