Well, what to say…

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007

I refuse to close down. :) I know, no one’s reading anymore. I don’t blame you. But hey, this can still be my own private place, right? ;)

Let’s see…. stuff’s going well at the job (LOVING working at Mailrite), I’m seeing Matt less and less but there’s not really much I can do about it :( , and… yeah. Just trying to keep trucking!

Lots of interesting things have been happening in the tech world lately. I installed the latest release of Ubuntu on a laptop, then gave it to Mom & Dad, so they can finally have a computer. Mom’s LOVING it. :D And I gotta say, if you’re interested in Linux, 7.10 is QUITE the release. VERY easy to get up and running.

Really looking forward to the next release of the OpenMoko platform. I can’t afford a cellphone right now, but when I can, BOY do I know what I’m getting. :)

Not gonna get my hopes up, but I’m currently talking to a girl on myspace, we’ll see where that goes (wish me luck! I always had a crush on her in highschool).

I’m done stressing over Deanna, just too painful. If she ever wants to show that she can really pull things off, and I’m single then, maybe. But she was VERY hurtful, so I don’t even know (might be worth it, just for Matt’s sake though).

Currently working on the company website. The current one (www.mailritevt.com) sucks. Well, it sucks now. Hopefully, in not too long, mine will be at that address :D .

Usual Slashdot activity, trolling for news :D . Oh, and I’m trying to get OFF featured on Security Now, but not much luck yet. :(

Anyway, I’ll try to update a little more often (once ever six months or so is a little dry lol). Anyway, ’till next time, dear reader (if you’re even still there)!

P.S.: Play Portal! :D

I’ve got a new job! And it doesn’t suck!

Monday, March 12th, 2007

I LOVE my new job! A few weeks ago, I was made an offer at Mail Rite up in Putney, VT. I just started today, and lemme tell you, I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! The people are great, the work place is friendly, and even my boss doesn’t scare me! I suspect that he’d even care if I died (which is not at all something that I think my last boss (his name rhymes with fleeo) would do)!

Anyway, between the GREAT pay, the free health, free life insurance, STARTING OFF WITH A WEEKS VACATION, and all the other little goodies (did I mention that I get to sit at a computer all day?!?), it’s a pretty sweet deal. I’m TOTALLY psyked to get into it!

Anyway, I’m REAL tired, and I gotta be up at 7 again tomorrow, so until next time!time!

Mom and Dad’s house burned down…

Thursday, November 9th, 2006

I put something up on Digg to get Mom and Dad some help after the house burned down. I figure it may get a couple of donations. If anyone has any questions, feel free to call (or post or what ever).

The link on Digg has most of the information.

Look, Ma - I’m Moblogging!

Friday, September 29th, 2006

Or at least that’s what I would have said a half hour ago. I had this whole post written up (using cellphone typing none-the-less) about how I’m all modern using my Moto Razr to moblog. Then, after blowing an hour typing up three paragraphs or so I tried to upload it and BOOM! I had run out of cell service :( . But hey, that’s the way it goes. Anyway, moblogging is neat, but better is using my laptop in the car to type up a post and then post it as wifi becomes available. Heck, we’re headed into PA, who was trying to get wifi all over some of their cities a little while ago, so wifi shouldn’t be TOO hard to come by.

Anyway, we’re headed to Hershey Park for the weekend (that’s how I’m able to blog: vacation!), and we hit this HUGE traffic jam (I guess this trucker jacknifed his rig and killed himself and a maybe some other people, anyway it was a lot of cars). As we were trying to get back on our way (which took going in circles like 3 times) Deanna told me to nose my way into another lane, so I did. However, as I was trying to get in front of this chick (who was glued to her cell phone) she just keeps going ahead! We scrape, and she got the gift that keeps on giving: free paint on her new SUV. Witch with a capital B, if you ask me. I just can’t beleive people are that numb. SHE DIDN’T EVEN NOTICE ANYTHING BAD HAPPENED!!!

But yeah, people are stupid. Yes, I know I’m using a computer, but I’M NOT DRIVING!!! That makes a difference. :D

Anyway, I have the laptop with me this weekend, I’ll try to post again as I’m able. Later, and remember: if you’re going to moblog, do make sure to save your work often so you don’t run outta cell service.

I’m not dead! Just nearly!

Sunday, September 24th, 2006

Ok, how long has it been now? About a month and a half, right? Boy, am I sorry. However, I’m even sorrier to say it’s possibly going to be as much as another month ’till I can post again. See, I’m putting in A LOT of hours at the bakery, as we are short a manager there (even though my boss promised me that when we lost the first manager I would not be put in his place). So that doesn’t leave a lot of time for blogging, sadly. On the up side, I’ve made a lot of progress in other areas. As I mentioned in a previous post I’ve now made a nearly full move to Linux (Ubuntu Dapper Drake, to be precise). I only reboot to Windows to re-sync my iPod, and I’m nearly done with that once I get a couple of kinks with amaroK worked out. Now, let me tell you - if you’re not a hardcore gamer (a lot of games work on Linux, but not all), Linux can be a dream. I’ve got XGL and Compiz running, and it puts Vista to shame for eye candy.

XGL and Compiz

I’ve got plenty of good programs in the form of open source stuff, and best? It’s all free. What do you all think about Linux? Has anyone else here tried it, and what kind of success did you have?

Ok, that’s it for now. I’ll post back ASAP. Thanks!
